In all warehouses there comes a time when a product goes missing or gets misplaced and you cannot figure out where it went. We all know that product gets damaged and thrown away, or goes missing without WinFDS being adjusted. Although WinFDS cannot track products that 'Go Missing' what can be done, is to find out how much of the specific product was actually shipped or used in processing so you can determine how much is actually missing.
This week we will discuss how the Product Tracking Report (IC18) provides all product movements entered into WinFDS. We will discuss the various selectivity fields when generating the report and then take a look at the printed report.
Selectivity's of IC18
Note: For this example, we will be using a product that is Lot Controlled and inventoried by units and weight.
- Open Print Product Tracking Report - IC18
- Enter the 'Product Codes' that you are interested in reviewing (red arrow below).
- If you have the multiple warehouse module, you can select the specific warehouse (green arrow below).
- The 'First Date' (yellow arrow below) is used to indicate when you want information to be provided from. If you leave the field blank, all product movement since the last time you purged product tracking 'IC19' will be listed on the report.
- The 'Last Date' (blue arrow below) allows you to indicate the last date of product tracking you want on the report.
Note: Using the First and Last Date allows you to narrow the product movement period.
- You can also narrow the report by entering specific lot numbers (magenta arrow below).
- The Inventory Activity Type(s) field (cyan arrow below) allows you to select the type of activity you want to see on the report. As an example, you can select only to see Inventory Adjustments or Batch Production information. You can select as many Activity Types as you wish to be provided on the report.
- The "Q.O.H/Quality Control Quantity" field (black arrow below) allows you to select what inventory you are reporting on. Note: In WinFDS V7, there is a function to assign products to a "Quality Control Quantity". The Quality Control Quantity is used if you have product that you have in your inventory that may be substandard or must be QC tested/certified before it can be used. Search for "Quality Control Quantity" in WinFDS Help to learn more about this feature.
- Press the Go to generate the report.
