Creating Price Lists for Customers

From time to time a Customer may contact you and ask to see a list of products and prices. Depending on the type of Customer they are (i.e. pizzeria) you may want to provide them a specific product list with a specific price level. Setting up specific Price Books and assigning products to these books will allow you to provide the Customer with those products they would purchase with the correct price level.

Below we will discuss how to create a price book, assign products to them, and then generate a Price List for the Customer.

Creating a Price Book

Open MF16 - Price Book Master FileEnter a Price Book Code (red arrow below)If the code has not been used previously, you will be asked if you want to create a new code. Answer 'Yes'.Enter the Description of the price book you have created (green arrow below).Press the Update to save the new Price Book.

Note: If you have the Web Order Entry Module that allows your Customers to place orders online, you can include this Price Book in the Web Order Entry Module. Check the Include? checkbox (magenta arrow below) if you want this Price Book to be visible in Web Order Entry Module.

Creating Off-Invoice Discounts and Upcharges (PC27) in WinFDS

There are many reasons why we might want to add an additional charge or provide a discount to a Customers' invoice. As an example, we might have a policy if a Customer is located outside a 30 mile range a fuel surcharge of $8 will be added to each invoice. Another example might be that if a Customer purchases more than $2,000 they would receive a 5% discount off their invoice. Off-Invoice Discount/Upcharge File (PC27) allows you to generate discounts and upcharges on a Customers' invoice specifically how you want them.

Additional Benefits

  • Adding an upcharge or discount to a group or specific Customer
  • Showing on the Invoice that you provided a "Discount"  instead of adjusting the price of products
  • Have a discount or upcharge automatically entered on the invoice depending on criteria
  • Up to three discounts/upcharges can be assigned to each specific Customer
  • Flexibility to provide a discount if certain criteria is achieved
  • Flexibility to add an upcharge if certain criteria is not achieve
